32 | beyond the reach and inaccessible to children in care. Assistant Director informed LPA no medication is stored on site, however when medication is present the medication is secured in an elevated location in the classroom which inaccessible to children in care.
The CCC's outdoor playground areas are enclosed by a chain linked fence and the footing in the area is varied. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secured. LPA observed age appropriate toys/play equipment in the outdoor play areas The toys/play equipment are in suitable condition and free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. LPA reminded Director to replace toys and play equipment when such items degrade or are not in good repair. The play structures in the playground areas have adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls and shade in the form of tress, building overhangs and shade sails. Tight fitting covered receptacles were observed throughout the CCC. No bodies of water are observed on site.
A sampling of staff and children records are reviewed. The children’s records are complete and found to contain emergency contact information and children immunization records, amongst other required licensing documents. A sampling of staff records are reviewed and contain documentation to support staff member's educational experience and training certifications, amongst other required licensing documents. Director notes no firearms/weapons or ammunition are stored on the premises. LPA reviewed the documentation for the facility's fire drills and notes the last fire drill on site was completed on 7/23/24.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing
