25 | On 8/9/21, at 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Required Inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Sarah Davis, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Director toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday thru Friday. LPA observed nine children in care along with three teachers (associated and cleared). The CCC is a combined center with an infant program. LPA noted all nine children were napping at the time of the inspection.
The classroom of the CCC is clean and organized. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children. The bathroom attached to the classroom is in safe and sanitary operating condition. The classroom has an operable carbon monoxide detector. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions were locked in a laundry/supply room which is inaccessible to children. Likewise, the center’s medications are also secured in a locked box in the CCC's kitchen which is also inaccessible to children in care.
The CCC provides an afternoon snacks for the children. Parents of children in care provide morning snack and lunch from home. CCC staff ensure the snacks and lunch contain items from the necessary food groups. Children have access to available drinking water both inside the classroom and outside in the play area. LPA reviewed posted menus in the classroom which outlined the future snacks to be provided. Additionally, the room had licensing required documents and forms posted. The CCC maintains electronic Sign In/Outs (Pro Care). The Director printed LPA a sampling of the aforementioned which was completed appropriately.
The CCC's outdoor playground areas is enclosed by a wrought iron fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gate is secured. LPA observed age appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area which are suitable condition. The play structures in the playground areas have adequate cushioning materials (i.e. sand) to absorb falls. No bodies of water were observed on site.
