25 | On 12/2/24, at 11:30 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Shane Loftus conducted an unannounced Annual inspection of the Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Rosa Medina, Site Supervisor of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Site Supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The CCC is a dedicated infant program. At the time of the inspection, eight children are observed in care, along with two teachers (cleared and associated).
The CCC uses two main rooms, two nap rooms, and an outdoor play area. The CCC is clean and organized. Likewise, the CCC has ventilation children in care. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and furnishings throughout the CCC. The CCC has eight cribs for children in care. LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors affixed to the ceiling. A carbon monoxide detector was tested at 11:57 am and found to be functional. The CCC's bathroom is in safe and sanitary operating condition. The CCC has an operable refrigerator. The refrigerator contains the children's food and formula which is labeled and dated. Sharps, disinfectants, and cleaning solutions are secure on an elevated shelf in a locked closet. Each location is inaccessible to children in care. There is no medication on site, however when medication is present it is stored in a secure closet. The CCC provides the children in care bottled water.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP).
