25 | On 8/13/21, 2:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Required Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Anahi Everhart, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. The FCCH's living room, office, guest bedroom and backyard are used for child care, while the home’s master bedrooms and garage are excluded from child care. LPA observed four children on site at the time of the inspection, along with an Assistant/spouse (cleared and associated).
The FCCH is clean, orderly and has ventilation to afford for child care. No hazardous items are observed on site. LPA observed a fireplace in the FCCH which is screened with a mesh metal covering and inaccessible to children. The bathroom used for children care is observed to be clean and free of toxins. Medication in the home is secured in an elevated cabinet in the kitchen. Detergents and cleaning compounds are stored in a child locked cabinet under the sink. Additionally, sharps are secured on an elevated cabinet shelf in the kitchen. LPA observed carbon monoxide and smoke alarm detectors in the home’s main hallway. Each was tested (2:10 PM and 2:12 PM) and found to be operable. A regulation fire extinguisher is on site which was purchased on 5/15/21. LPA reminded Licensee to purchase or service a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment in the FCCH's interior.
The backyard's play area is comprised of a grass lawn and concrete slab. The backyard is completely fenced with wooden slates. The backyard entry/exit gate is secure. The outdoor play area is also free of hazards and has age appropriate toys and equipment. LPA observed no bodies of water on site.
LPA reviewed a sampling of the children's records. All records reviewed are current and complete. A current roster of children was reviewed by the LPA. LPA reviewed Sleep Plans of children (0-12 months) as well as logs of children's sleep documented in 15 minutes intervals. LPA also reviewed the Licensee's records. The Licensee's records are current and complete with Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expiring in 8/13/21.
