25 | On 3/1/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley made an unannounced Case Management inspection at the request of the Licensee, Anahi Everhart, as Licensee is converting an office room in the home to a nap room. LPA met with the Licensee and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the Family Child Care Home (FCCH). At the time of the inspection, LPA observed six children present along with Assistant and spouse, Patrick Everhart, providing supervision and care.
The converted nap room is at the rear of the home. The room is equipped with age appropriate furnishings and has appropriate ventilation to afford for child care services.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
The converted office of the FCCH is approved for use as a nap room.
No deficiencies were cited during this visit to the home.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Anahi Everhart .
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
