25 | On 6/3/25, at 10:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Sapien conducted an unannounced annual random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Rocio Lopez-Cazares, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. The LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The house is a 3 bedroom and 1 bathroom single story home. The residence is within the Trees Mobile Home Park in Paso Robles. The areas that are accessible for day care children are as follows: living room (main playroom), hallway, dining room, bathroom, and a nearby outdoor patio. The remainder of the home is excluded from childcare services. Importantly to note, inaccessible rooms, areas, and cabinets are made secure by child safety knobs and locks. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed six day care children present, two of whom were infants. LPA also observed the Licensee’s husband, an assistant at the day care, present who is both cleared and associated.
LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and orderly. The bathroom utilized for childcare is clean and free of toxins. The bathroom is near the day care room. LPA observed locks on the bathroom cabinet and no potentially hazardous items within the cabinet. LPA observed sharps, personal medication, and cleaning solutions in elevated kitchen cabinets, all out of reach of children in care. No children currently require medication. LPA also observed a First Aid Kit in the residence for the day care.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys, furnishings, and equipment throughout the day care room. LPA observed no animals on site.
LPA observed relevant licensing forms and documents posted prominently at the entryway of the day care room. LPA observed a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector within the FCCH. This detector was tested at 11:15 AM and was found to be operational. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher in the FCCH (CONT. 809-C, Page 2)
