On 5/11/22, at 12:10 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley made an unannounced One Year Required Inspection of the abovementioned home and met with Licensee McKyla George. LPA explained the nature and purpose inspection. LPA notes 8 children are in care during the time of the inspection, three of which were in the process napping. An assistance was also on site during the time of the inspection.

LPA toured the interior and exterior of the home with the Licensee. The home is a two bedroom, one bathroom single story dwelling. The family room, bathroom and front yard are used for child care services. The home's bedrooms, kitchen and front shed are excluded from child care. LPA observed the family room has ample space and ventilation for children. Age appropriate toys, and equipment were observed both inside and outside of the FCCH. The FCCH's bathroom used for children care is observed to be clean and free of toxins. Medication in the home is stored on an elevated shelf in a bathroom's medicine cabinet. LPA observed cleaning compounds stored atop the refrigerator which inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed the kitchen entry barricaded with a retractable child safety mesh fence.

LPA observed a required fire extinguisher 2A10BC in the home which was serviced on 5/10/22. LPA reminded Licensee of the responsibility to service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. The home has a combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector. The detector was not tested during the inspection as children in care were napping The detector will be tested virtually post inspection..The home has a wall heater which is screened.

The FCCH's front yard is enclosed by wooden and chained linked fencing. The footing is made up of artificial grass and uncovered ground. Play structures in the area are in good repair. LPA observed ducks and a duck pond (body of water) enclosed by wooden fencing and wire mess. The ducks and the body of water are inaccessible to children in care.

LPA's record review revealed Licensee completed Mandated Reporter training on 4/13/21, and Pediatric CPR

/First Aid (EMSA approved) on 6/12/21. LPA reminded Applicant of obligation to maintain current training and certifications. LPA reviewed all children records. The records were complete. Records contained documentation noting sleep checks in intervals of 15 minutes as well as immunization records.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA also informed Licensee McKyla George of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

A Notice of Site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
