32 | coop in the area. Licensee informed LPA children do have interaction with the chickens in the coop. Licensee informed LPA hand washing is mandatory for children after interactions with the chickens. Licensee was reminded to replace toys, play equipment and furniture when such items begin to degrade and are not in good repair. LPA observed no bodies of water on site.
LPA's record review revealed Licensee completed Mandated Reporter training on 6/24/24, and Pediatric CPR /First Aid (EMSA approved) on 4/18/23. LPA reminded Applicant of obligation to maintain current training and certifications. LPA reviewed a sampling of children records. The records were complete. Records contained immunization records and emergency contact information, amongst other required licensing documents. LPA notes documentation for fire drill at the FCCH shows the last drill occurred on 3/27/24. The FCCH has a dog on site. LPA reviewed the vaccination documentation for the dog which are current. Licensee informed LPA no firearms or ammunition are stored on site.
The FCCH provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child
