32 | LPA observed relevant licensing forms and documents posted prominently in the primary playroom. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the area. The detectors were separately tested at 1:05 PM and were found to be operational. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher in the FCCH which was last purchased on 10/7/25. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the FCCH's fire/disaster drill log. The most recent disaster drill occurred on 2/11/26. Licensee informed LPA that the FCCH conducts disaster drills at least once every six months.
As prior mentioned, the backyard is accessible to children in care. The FCCH's outdoor area is enclosed by a mixture of fencing throughout. Importantly to note, the outdoor play area borders a descending dry creek area. The slope area varies in proximity to children's play structures anywhere from 10 feet to 20 feet. Like the interior of the FCCH, the outdoor area has age-appropriate play structures, toys, and other equipment throughout the area that can afford for robust childcare services. Licensee was reminded to replace toys and play equipment which start to degrade or are not in good repair. The footing of the exterior is varied and made up of the following: asphalt (long driveway), natural grass, playground bark, artificial turf, and dirt. Shade is afforded by a number of sun sails, umbrellas, and neighboring trees. Licensee attested to LPA that there are no bodies of water present on site. The Licensee does own an above-ground swimming pool, however, it is currently disassembled. LPA reminded the Licensee of the requirements to follow should the swimming pool be installed again in the front yard. LPA also observed a large trampoline present on site. LPA advised the Licensee that their particular trampoline should not be used during day care hours and Licensee understood. The Licensee attested to LPA that children are always supervised when engaged in outside activity.
LPA reviewed children's records. The records are current, complete, and possessed emergency contact information and vaccination records, among other relevant licensing documents and forms. The Licensee's records were also reviewed. Licensee completed their Mandated Reporter Training on 10/8/25 and their CPR/First Aid Training on 3/21/26. Licensee was reminded to renew certifications and training prior to expirations. The Licensee informed LPA that there are no firearms and ammunition that are stored on site.
Currently, the Licensee does not provide Incidental Medical Services (IMS) or administer medication to children in care. IMS policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
