32 | The FCCH’s backyard, used for outdoor activities, is enclosed by wooden fencing, and the entry/exit points are secure. The outdoor area has plenty of shade for the children in care as well as varied footing surfaces. The backyard contains age-appropriate play structures and toys. No bodies of water were observed on site.
A sampling of the children's records was reviewed. The records are current and complete with emergency contact information, and immunization records. The Licensee's records indicate Mandated Reporter training was completed on 07/25/2024 and CPR/First Aid training was completed on 08/09/2024. LPA reviewed emergency drill log and observed the last emergency drill was conducted and documented 07/28/2025. LPA reminded Licensee that emergency drills are required every six months and need to be documented. LPA observed a dog on site, vaccination records are current. Licensee stated there are no guns or ammunition in the facility.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.87, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.
