32 | The area has ample shade provided by both trees and building overhangs. The footing in the areas are varied. The outdoor area is outfitted with age appropriate equipment. LPA observed a locked shed in the outdoor area which contains CCC supplies. LPA observed no bodies of water on site. A waiver for the use of a staggered outdoor play yard will be needed from the Department prior to Licensure.
Application documentation was reviewed at the CCLD, prior to the inspection. LPA was informed no firearms are on site.
This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility Representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The San Luis Obispo County Fire Department granted a Fire Clearance for a total capacity of 32 children on 1/9/23. Based on indoor and outdoor space, toilets and sinks, as well as LPA’s record review, this facility meets Title 22, Division 12 requirements for a CCC with a capacity of 32 children, however a waiver for the staggered use of the outdoor play yard is need. As such a Provisional License is granted given the aforementioned, effective forthwith 1/17/22
