25 | On December 13, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an announced prelicensing visit. LPA met with applicant Maurin Goodwin and director Mollie Bryson and discussed the purpose of the inspection.
Applicant submitted a preschool application for children ages 2 years – 5 years old. This facility is located on the grounds of Myogenix, Inc. and Legacy Training Center, same owners. The facility plans to operate Monday – Friday 7:30am-5:15pm and utilize ProCare app for signing in and out purposes.
Facility will utilize one classroom (designated as Classroom #1) for care and supervision. An open portion of the classroom is an enclosed play gym with age-appropriate toys and equipment. This is an extension of the classroom. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and equipment, ample ventilation, new napping mats, and emergency exit access. Director stated snacks will be provided to children and LPA observed kitchen to be clean, functioning, free of pests, and director stated filtered water is available and children will bring water bottles. Carbon monoxide was tested and functioning at the time of the inspection, fire extinguisher was last serviced 8/21/2023 and LPA observed first aid kits. LPA observed 8 toilets, 4 sinks.
Outdoor area consists of two separate play areas both contained by permitter fencings, and include soft padding to absorbs falls, age-appropriate toys and equipment, and ample shade, water, and handwashing sink. No bodies of water were present at the time of the inspection.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
