25 | On 5/20/26, at 12:40 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Sapien conducted an unannounced annual random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Gabrielle Romo, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. The LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home is a 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom single story residence, however, a detached studio is only used for FCCH services. The areas that are accessible for day care children are as follows: entry room, living room area, one bathroom, and a portion of the backyard. The remainder of the space, like closets and a kitchen, is excluded from childcare services. Inaccessible areas are made secure by child safety locks. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed 9 day care children present, two of whom were infants. In addition the Licensee, LPA observed the Licensee's husband and one staff assistant on site (all cleared and associated).
LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and orderly. The bathroom that is utilized for childcare is clean and free of toxins. LPA observed personal medications, sharps, and cleaning supplies in elevated kitchen cabinets, all out of reach of children in care. Two children currently require medication. LPA viewed children's medication in an elevated position in a lockbox in the bathroom. LPA also observed a First Aid Kit in the studio for the day care.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys, furnishings, and equipment throughout the main playroom. In the house, LPA observed no fireplaces and confirmed that this was the case with the Licensee. LPA also observed two dogs on the property. Licensee informed LPA that the pets vaccinations are current, however, they don't have interactions with children in care. LPA observed relevant licensing forms and documents posted prominently to a wall in the entrance of the home. LPA also observed a separate smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the studio. At 1:16 PM, the smoke detector was tested, while at 1:17 PM, the carbon monoxide detector and both were found to be operational. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher in the FCCH which was last serviced on 4/17/26. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or (CONT. 809-C, Page 2)
