25 | On 6/23/2022 at 8:50AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis J. Gomez met with Licensee/ Director, Joanne Adan and Licensee, Jerry Adan. Purpose of the inspection was explained and was for an unannounced; annual random inspection. Facility is preschool program with toddler component. Per director, toddler component is not operating at this time. Present was the director and two staff, supervising 19 children. Children present had been properly signed in. All adults have their criminal record clearance on file. Preschool program utilizes three classrooms; Lunch Room (detached); Kitchen; and one, Outdoor Play Space. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm. Program operates year-around. LPA inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards.
At 9:10AM., the following was observed: classrooms were clean, orderly, and with age-appropriate supplies available for the children. Floor and ground surfaces were free of obstructions. Furniture and playthings inspected were in proper repair. Facility had individual cubbies and child size tables and several chairs for activities. For napping services, foldable mats were stored in closet and properly labeled. Per licensee, children’s napping sheets are washed weekly by families. Children’s bathrooms were reviewed during inspection. Bathroom fixtures were in operating condition with adequate supplies for hand washing. Staff bathroom is located next to the office. Classrooms were proper temperature with ventilation and lighting. Detergents, cleaning supplies, and all other toxins were stored in locked cabinet. Accessible outlets had been covered.
LPA reminded director to ensure trash bins are equipped with tight-fitting lids. Facility had functioning telephone service; smoke detector; carbon monoxide detector; and fully charged fire extinguisher (3A:60BC). First aid kit was review during inspection. (REFER TO 809C, FOR CONT.)
