25 | On 7/14/2022 at 8:50AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis J. Gomez met with Director, Laurie Cerefice. Purpose of the inspection was explained and was for an unannounced; annual random inspection. Facility is preschool program. Present was the director and 16 staff, supervising 77 children. Children present had been properly signed in. All staff have their criminal record clearance on file. Preschool program utilizes seven classrooms, (Lower Building) Panda, 3 year old; Flamingo, 3 year old; Monkey, 2 year old; Lama, 3 year old, (Upper Building) Shining Stars, 4 year old; Lady Bugs, 4 year old; and Brown Bears, 4 year old. Facility uses four outdoor Play Areas: Main Play Yard, Front Play Yard and Side Yard. Days and hours of operation are Monday- Friday 8:00AM- 5:00PM. Program operates year-around. LPA inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards.
At 9:10AM., the following was observed: classrooms were clean, orderly, and with age-appropriate supplies available for the children. Floor and ground surfaces were free of obstructions. Furniture, books and playthings inspected were in proper repair. Each classroom was equipped with individual storage containers and child size tables and several chairs for activities. For napping services, LPA observed stackable cots properly stored and labeled. Per director, napping sheets are washed weekly by families. Children’s bathrooms were reviewed during inspection. Bathroom fixtures were in operating condition and had adequate supplies for hand washing. Diaper changing table is located in the lower building hallway. Per director, area is disinfected after each use. Staff bathrooms are located separately. Classrooms were proper temperature with ventilation and lighting. Detergents, cleaning supplies, and all other toxins were stored in locked closet. Accessible outlets had been covered.
At 9:45AM., Based on observations, LPA confirmed several accessible trash bins in classrooms without lid covers. Advisory Note: Technical Violation (LIC9102TV) was issued during inspection. Facility had functioning telephone service; smoke/ carbon monoxide detector combo (built-in); and fully charged fire extinguishers (3A:60BC). First aid kit was review during inspection.
