25 | On September 20, 2024 at approximately 1:00 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Zaragoza, conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted access by licensee, Christine Carmichael. At the entrance licensee was explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during LPA's visit included Licensee Christine, licensee, Susan Aguado, 2 staff assistant, and 7 children (3 infants, and 4 preschool children).
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm. Licensee lives in a two-level home with their spouse, adult daughter, and mother, Susan Aguado. All adults living in the home and staff present, have fingerprint clearance on file. Per licensee, Susan Aaguado, is retired and does not provide care to children.
The DAY CARE AREAS are located on the first level of the home, living room #1, dining room, playroom, bathroom #1, family room, and backyard yard. The OFF LIMIT AREAS are the entire second level of the home, kitchen, living room #2, and garage. Off limit areas are made inaccessible to children.
LPA toured day care areas of home with licensee. LPA observed home to be in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in good condition. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible with child safety covers. Cleaning supplies, poisons and hazardous materials are stored in homes off limit areas and/or locked behind child safety locked cabinets.
Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher and a dual smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Smoke and carbon monoxide detector was tested during visit and was observed to be in working condition.
Napping area (family room and play room) was observed to be equipped with playpens and cots for napping children. LPA did not observed playpens or cots to have tight fitting sheets. Per licensee, they do not use blankets or sheets. LPA reminded licensee sleeping logs for napping infants need to be maintained and includes the 15-minute time check of when infant was last checked on.
LPA observed the bathroom, bathroom was observed to be in proper working condition. There is appropriate sanitation and toileting equipment for children in care. LPA observed children’s diapers and wipes in bathroom to be properly stored in cubbies. Cubbies have the children’s names of each individual child. LPA observed changing table in the bathroom for infants. Per licensee, children’s families provide diapers and wipes for enrolled children.
