25 | On August 1, 2024, at approximately 1:45 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with licensee Regina Gonzales, and purpose of inspection was explained. Present during today’s visit was Licensee, helper and 8 children (4 infants and 4 preschool age children). Facility is operating within capacity and ratio requirements on this day. All adults present in home have criminal background clearances. Childcare hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 5:00PM.
LPA and licensee toured the indoors and outdoors of the home for health and safety hazards. Home is a tri level home. Day Care Area: Daycare room which is a converted garage located on the ground level of home, bathroom in daycare and backyard. Off Limits Areas: The entire home which consist of 2nd and 3rd floors, laundry room located in daycare area, deck, and upper level of backyard. Isolation area for sick children is an area outdoors and away from other children. Off limits cabinets and areas have childproof locks and childproof doorknobs. Staircase in daycare area is equipped with a childproof gate. LPA observed daycare area to be clean and orderly. Daycare is well light and has proper ventilation. LPA observed electrical outlets are secured with child proof covers and inaccessible to children. Storage cubbies are available for children to store personal belongings. LPA observed a microwave and small refrigerator in daycare area. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, child size furnishings, leaning material, sleeping mats and playpens. LPA observed a bathroom to be clean and have children’s toiletries. There is a changing table located outside bathroom. Backyard patio area is equipped with plenty of age-appropriate toys which include, slides, ride on toys and play kitchen, all in good condition. Patio is equipped with an awning and fan to keep children cool during hot days. There is a grass area to cushion falls. The upper right side of backyard is off limits and deck behind home is barricaded for inaccessibility to children. LPA did not observe any spas, pools, or other bodies of water. Entire backyard is surrounded with a 5 ft. fence.
Playroom is equipped with a working dual carbon monoxide/smoke detector. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher located in playroom on counter. LPA reviewed first aid kit and kit is fully stocked. Licensee maintains a landline and uses a cell phone on the premise. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. Licensee provides sheets for children in care and washes them on a weekly basis or as needed.
