25 | On April 23, 2024, at approximately 1:50 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janet Gil conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with licensee, Michelle Bratt, and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present during LPA’s visit included licensee, two of licensee's assistants (A1 and A2), and 12 enrolled children (1 infants and 11 preschool age). The licensee is a large license and is operating within capacity limits and ratio.
Licensee lives in a multi-level home with her spouse and two adult children. All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance on file. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 pm. All day care areas are located on the main level of the home.
Day Care Areas: first level of the home only, which includes the living room, playroom, dining area, kitchen, bedroom #1 (napping room), bathroom #1, and backyard.
Off Limit Areas: the garage, front yard of home, and entire second level of the home. Off limit areas are made inaccessible with child safety gates and/or child safety handles.
At approximately 2:05 PM, LPA toured day care areas of home with licensee. LPA observed the home to be in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Home is equipped with a variety of toys and materials that were observed to be in good working condition. LPA observed a fully stocked accessible first aid kit. Per licensee, there are multiple first aid kits available to the children in all areas of the home. LPA did not observe any accessible cleaning supplies, poisons, and solutions in day care areas. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible with outlet covers. Home is equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher and multiple dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA did not test carbon monoxide detector next to dining room area due to children in care being in their nap time. Per licensee, all carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are in working condition. Licensee does not have any children in care with allergies or IMS plans. Per licensee, she provides food for all children in care.
At approximately 2:30 PM, LPA observed bathroom for children's use was in proper working condition. LPA observed bathroom to include appropriate toileting equipment and sanitation products. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials to be accessible to children in the bathroom.
