25 | On June 13th, 2022 at 2:10PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced, annual, required inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor, Claudia Araiza and explained the purpose of the inspection. Present in the facility are 2 staff caring for 15 preschool age children. Staff have criminal record clearance through the School District. Facility is currently operating within teacher to child ratio on this date.
Program is open M-F, for AM/PM sessions, 9a-12p and 1p-4p, closed for lunch from 12p-1p, and follows School District calendar. Program operates in a portable classroom (next to field on 8th Ave). Portable classroom is equipped with two restrooms with one sink and one toilet in each restroom.
LPA observed classroom to be clean and equipped with age appropriate toys and materials. Storage for children's belongings is located outside of the classrooms, labeled with each child's individual names. Classroom is equipped with a working telephone, an industrial fire alarm, a carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher, as well as emergency kits with first aid materials and emergency contact information.
All poisons, cleaning solutions and hazardous materials are stored inaccessible to children behind locked cabinets and facility's high shelves. Food is prepared by the Elementary's school staff and is delivered daily to the classroom. AM session offers breakfast and lunch and PM session offers afternoon snack only. Meals are individually packed for each child. All mandatory postings are posted in the classroom, including menus. Water is available to children indoors and outdoors by using bottled water. Outdoor area appears to be clean and orderly. There are a variety of outdoor equipment that are in good working condition. Play structures have resilient padding. Children are signed in and out of facility by parents' signatures.
