25 | On September 19th, 2024, at approximately 1:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janet Gil conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with director, Brigette Gauthier, and explained the purpose of the inspection.
Temporary Tot Tending operates at Ortega Elementary School, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Present during inspection included 20 school age children with 2 staff members (including director). Facility is operating within capacity requirements and ratios at time of LPA's inspection. Facility operates out of three portable classroom(E2, E3, P39). Facility also has separate Preschool license that operates in portable classroom E1.
LPA and director inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards. LPA observed portable classrooms to be clean, equipped with age appropriate toys, materials, and furniture. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible with outlet covers and furniture. LPA also observed a covered trash can in each portable classroom. Storage for children's belongings are located inside each classroom. Per director, facility does not have designated nap time due to it being a school age program. Facility has no enrolled children on IMS Plans on date of inspection.
Facility has an implemented fire alarm system. LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector in each portable classroom. Facility has one fully stocked and accessible first aid kit located in each classroom. Per director they have a larger first aide kit available in portable classroom E2. Facility has one fully charged fire extinguisher in each classroom. All poisons, cleaning solutions and hazardous materials are stored inaccessible to children locked in classroom storage cabinets.
LPA observed children's bathrooms to be clean and in proper working condition. Per director, bathroom sinks do not provide hot water. Facility provides snack only. Menus are posted available for authorized representatives to review. Water is available to children indoors and outdoors with children's water bottles.
