25 | On August 27th, 2024 at approximately 8: 40 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA Gil arrived at the facility. LPA conducted an unannounced case management inspection for a decrease of capacity. LPA met with Lead Teacher, Sonia Bon. Facility has requested to decrease capacity from 120 to 24 children and to remove Rooms 1-5 from their license and only keep room 8. Present at the facility were 15 preschool age children with 3 staff. All adults working in the facility are fingerprint cleared by the San Mateo-Foster City School District.
Facility is located on Parkside Elementary School. Facility is currently licensed for 120 children in Room #1-5 and Room #8. LPA measured room #8. Room #8 measured for a total of 879.897 allowing 24 preschool age children. Facility has 2 toilets, 1 sink. and a restroom outside classroom that is accepted by a waiver.
LPA inspected Room #8 for health and safety hazards. LPA observed that there is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher in classroom #8. Facility has all the cleaning solutions, poisons, and other chemicals stored inaccessible to the children in high shelves. Classroom has age appropriate toys and furniture. LPA observe all furniture to be in proper repair. Floor appears to be in repair and free of any hazards.
This facility meets the licensing requirements to decrease capacity to 24 preschoolers and re-licensure is recommended and approved as of today, 8/27/2024. New license shall be posted when received.
No deficiencies were cited today. Exit interview and report was discussed with lead teacher Sonia Bon.
