25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Licensees Graciela and Miguel Tejada and explained purpose of inspection. Present in the home were the Licensees and ten children (four infants and six preschool aged). Licensees are operating within capacity requirements on this day. All adults living or working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Day Care Areas: Kids room #1, kids room #2, bathroom #3, and backyard. Off Limit Areas: Living room, kitchen, master bedroom, bedroom #2, bedroom #3, master bathroom, bathroom #2, garage, and unit located at the back of the backyard. Off limit areas of the home are in the process of being reconstructed. LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensees. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation.There is a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home that are in good condition. There is a variety of outdoor age appropriate toys and equipment in the backyard. Play structures have adequate cushioning underneath. All cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to children. There is a fire alarm system, a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home.
Ten children records reviewed were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. Licensees' records reviewed were complete. Licensees' Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate expires January 2024. Last emergency drill was conducted in January 2023. Emergency drills are conducted at least once every six months and are properly logged.
