25 | On 9/25/2024 at 1:50PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luis Gomez met with Staff, Guanyan Huang. Purpose of inspection was explained was an unannounced, plan of correction inspection established on 3/19/2024. Director Sharon Lau arrived during inspection. Present were 4 staff supervision 20 children. LPA inspected facility for health and safety hazards.
During inspection, LPA discussed Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requiring all Child Care Centers to conducted lead testing of water outlets. All Child Care Centers located in buildings constructed prior to January 1, 2010, must have their water tested, with results posted by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after date of the first testing.
On 2/22/2024, The Department received facility’s ALE lead report from vendor, showing an exceedance level of parts per billion (ppb), above the allowable 5.4 on water outlet -fixture ‘B’.
On 5/24/2024, The Department received facility’s ALE lead re-testing report from vendor. Report shows water outlet- fixture B, was retested and now shows an ALE level result lower than 5.4 parts per billion (ppb).
During inspection, LPA toured facility with director and took photos of affected fixture.
Deficiency issued on 3/19/2024 has been cleared, and ‘Letter of Deficiency Citation Clearance’ was provided.
