25 | On 5/6/2025 at 9:00AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis Gomez met with Licensee, Janire Ordonez. The purpose of today’s visit was explained and was for an unannounced, annual/ random inspection. Present was the licensee and two assistants caring for 11 children. (9 preschool-age and 2 infant-age) Adults have criminal record clearances on file. Licensee’s home is a three bedroom, two bathroom, one level house. Days and hours of operations are Monday- Friday, 8:00AM- 5:00PM. The areas of the home designated for childcare are: Living Room (Activity Room); Bathroom #1; Dining Area; and Backyard. The area designated as off-limits include Kitchen (Pass through only); Garage; Bedroom #1, #2, #3 and Bathroom #2. LPA inspected facility indoors and outdoors for health and safety hazards.
At 9:15AM., the following was observed: Facility was clean with age-appropriate playthings and material available for the children. The floors, walkways, and ground surfaces were clear of any obstructions. The off-limit areas are made inaccessible with lockable doors. LPA observed cubbies available for storage of children’s belongings. Diaper change table is available for staff as needed. Accessible table, chairs and furniture are scaled to the appropriate size. Facility materials/ art supplies inspected were in good repair and fireplace in activity room has been barricaded.
At 9:20AM., Based on observation, LPA confirmed sharp cornered furniture in the activity room. Per licensee, plastic covers have been purchased and plan to be installed. Advisory Note: Technical Violation (LIC9102TV) was issued.
LPA advised licensee to ensure any paints used with children are labeled ‘non-toxic’ and used under staff supervision.
For napping services/ scheduled rest, LPA observed plastic mats and play pen located in facility. Bathroom #1 was observed clean, with faucet and toilet in operating condition. Facility was a comfortable temperature, ventilation, and lighting. Facility has telephone service; carbon monoxide/ smoke combination detectors; and fire extinguisher (2A:10BC).
