Toddler classroom (Room #2) was also observed to be clean, equipped with appropriate toys, materials and furniture. LPA observed electrical outlets in classroom to be made inaccessible with child safety covers. Flooring in toddler classroom also includes carpets and rugs that were observed to be clean and in good condition. The diaper changing station is made inaccessible to children with a child safety gate. Cabinets in diapering area were also observed to have child safety locks. LPA observed garbage bins in classroom to have tight fitting lids. Storage for children's materials are located in the classroom, labeled with the child's individual names and photos. Cots are utilized for napping infants in toddler room. LPA observed sheets to be appropriately stored so that they are not touching each other.
Both classrooms were observed to have licensing documents to be properly posted and made available for review. Infants are currently signed into program with authorized representatives' written signatures. LPA observed children to be properly signed in on today's date. Both classrooms include a fully stocked first aid kit, emergency backpack, fire sprinklers, fire alarm system and multiple dual smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. LPA was unable to test detectors due to placement in high ceilings.
Infant children have an outdoor area that is exclusive for infants' use. Infant area was observed to have appropriate outdoor equipment. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on site.
LPA reviewed facility records that included 5 random infants' records and records for teaching staff present. LPA observed infant records to be complete. Infant records include infant needs and services plan as well as individual infant sleeping plans. Teaching staff records were also complete. Staff records include current Mandated Reporter teaching certifications, required immunizations and current teaching permits. All staff present have a current CPR/First Aid certification. LPA reminded site manager Mandated Reporter certifications must be renewed every two years and must be completed by all staff working with children.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
