25 | On May 20th, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano and Alvarado conducted an unannounced, case management inspection for the Action Level Exceedance (ALE) of Lead in Child Care Center's water. LPAs met with Director, Ruby Andrade and explained the purpose of the visit.
LPAs inspected facility for health and safety hazards. Present in facility are Directors and 10 staff supervising a total of 74 school age children. All adults present in the facility are fingerprint cleared and associated to the Administrative Facility Roster.
LPAs discussed the new Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requires the Lead Testing of water in the Child Care Center with the site director during the inspection. All Child Care Centers that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after the date of the first testing.
The facility received the ALE report from the Vendor on April 10th, 2024. Test results for this facility that exceeded a higher level of parts per billion (ppb) allowed, 5.5 ppb. Per Waterboard website, facility was tested in August 1st, 2022. Based on the results that were uploaded onto the Waterboard website, the affected fixtures are J(22.4), AC(18), and II(17.9) parts per billion (ppb) of lead. LPAs were unable to identify the affected faucets as the floor plans indicators do not match the results on the Waterboard website. Based on information provided, LPAs were advised to cite a Technical Violation.
Notice of Site Visit was provided and must be posted for 30 days.
