25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee Amelia Lopez and explained purpose of inspection. Present in the home were the Licensee, a helper, and six children (three infants and three preschool aged). Licensee is operating within capacity requirements on this day. All adults living or working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Day Care Areas: First floorLiving room, kitchen, dining room, and front fenced portion of the backyard.
Off Limit Areas: First floorGarage and remaining portion of backyard. Entire second floor. LPA toured day care areas of home with Licensee. LPA observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. Stairs to second floor has a child protective gate at the bottom of the stairs and is inaccessible to children. There is a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home and outside in the fenced off portion in the backyard in good condition. All cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to children. There is a fire alarm system, a working smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home.
Six children records reviewed were complete. All children have a record of emergency identification information on file. Licensee and helper records reviewed were complete. Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate expires June 2023 and Helper's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate expires November 2024. Last emergency drill was conducted on October 30, 2022. Emergency drills are conducted every three months and are properly logged.
