25 | On 3/17/2025 at 8:45AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis Gomez met with Assistant Director, Courtney Gromowski. The purpose of today's visit was explained and was for an unannounced, annual/ random inspection. Director, Rowena De Los Angeles arrived during today’s inspection. This facility is licensed to operate a preschool-age program. Present was Director and 11 staff supervising 43 children. Staff presents have criminal record clearances on file. LPA reminded assistant director to ensure all children preset have been signed-in by guardians. Advisory Note: Technical Violation (LIC9102TV) was issued.
The preschool program utilizes five classrooms: Kindergarten Preparation, 4- 5-year-old; Monarch #1, 3 year old; Monarch #2, 3 years old; Butterfly #1, 2 year old; and Butterfly #2, 2 year old, and two, shared outdoor play spaces, preschool (Primary) yard and the ‘2’s (Side) yard. Per director, the Monarch 2’s classroom is not currently in use. Outdoor space waiver waiver for rotational use of outdoor space was observed posted. LPA inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards.
At 8:55AM., LPA observed the following: Classrooms was neat, clean, with age-appropriate materials and playthings available for the children. Floors and surfaces were clear of obstructions or hazards leading to the exits. Classrooms were equipped with cabinets, tables, and chairs scaled to the appropriate size. Classrooms have labeled cubbies for belongings. The children’s bathrooms were clean, with fixtures in operating condition, and adequate supplies for handwashing.
For scheduled rest/ nap services, LPA observed stackable plastic cots available. Per director, blankets and supplies are washed weekly by families. Facility has adequate ventilation; lighting; and was a comfortable temperature. Facility had a functioning telephone service and fire extinguishers (2A10BC) and testable carbon monoxide detector.
