LPA observed the children’s restroom located inside the classroom, equipped with age-appropriate fixtures and in working condition. LPA observed the classroom garbage bins had tight-fitting lids, and per the Site Supervisor, janitorial staff dispose of the garbage daily.
Meals, including breakfast and lunch, are provided by the school district. LPA observed the posted menu available for review. Drinking water was accessible indoors and outdoors through a filtered pitcher refilled at the classroom sink.
The outdoor play area was fully enclosed and fenced. LPA observed the posted outdoor rotation waiver available for review. The yard contained age-appropriate outdoor toys and materials in good condition, as well as a play structure with resilient surfacing. Outdoor garbage bins had tight-fitting lids. No bodies of water were observed.
According to the Site Supervisor, the center conducts its fire and earthquake drills in coordination with the school district, with the most recent drills completed on September 15, 2026. LPA reminded the Director to ensure drills are logged after completion.
During the inspection, LPA reminded the Site Supervisor of the center’s outstanding annual fee. The Site Supervisor stated she will notify the Program Office to resolve the matter.
Random children’s and staff files were reviewed. Children’s records were complete and included immunizations, admission agreements, emergency contact information, and Personal Rights forms. Staff files contained required immunizations, at least one staff member had a valid CPR/First Aid certification, and all staff members present had current mandated reporter training certificates.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.
