25 | On 10/31/2024, Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst Jamel Maiwandi met with Facility Director Carmen Zuniga, Program Director Anny Kazmi, and program director Ruby Andrade for the purpose of an unannounced capacity increase case management inspection. This is an application requesting for a capacity increase from 70 school age children ages TK-5 to 90. The facility's hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 12:50 PM to 6:00 PM. The fire clearance was granted on 10/7/2024.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection in all areas accessible to school age children. There are five existing school age classrooms: Room #1,#5,#6,#7,#8 and Wesley Hall. The licensee is not adding additional classrooms. The classroom space and Wesley hall contains a total of 5,084.55 square feet, which will accommodate the requested capacity of 90 school age children. There are 22 toilets and 8 sinks available to children, and a separate staff restroom is available. Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office and will use the staff restroom, if necessary. All outdoor and indoor passageways, stairways, inclines, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard were observed to be free of obstruction. The child care center was observed be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean.
A comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at all times. Furniture and equipment were observed to be sufficient in quantity, maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Tables and chairs were observed to be meet the needs of the children. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age-appropriate. LPA observed sufficient individual permanent or portable storage space for each child’s clothing, personal belongings and/or bedding. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, shall be free of toxic substances. A functional carbon monoxide detector was observed in the facility. Disinfectants and medications were observed to be inaccessible and appropriately stored. LPA observed an electronic sign-in/sign-out system.
