25 | On July 25, 2024, at approximately 12:35pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with licensee Olga Lopez, and purpose of inspection was explained. Present during today’s visit was Licensee, helper and 7 children (2 infants 3 preschoolers, and 2 school age). Facility is operating within capacity and ratio requirements on this day. All adults present today have criminal background clearances. Childcare hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 7:30AM to 5:30PM.
LPA and Licensee toured the indoor and outdoor of duplex for health and safety hazards. Duplex is a two-level story home. Day Care Areas: Living room, kitchen, bathroom, and backyard. Off Limits Areas: Entire second floor. Duplex has no garage. Isolation area for ill children will be in kitchen room and away from other children. LPA observed home to be clean and orderly. Home is well light and has proper ventilation. LPA observed electrical outlets are secured with child proof covers. Off-limits doors have child safety knobs and locks. Kitchen area and staircase are equipped with a child proof gate for inaccessibility to children in care. Cleaning supplies and other potentially harmful items are stored inaccessible to children. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, child size furnishings, learning material, playpens and sleeping mats, LPA observed playpen and mats to have tight fitting sheet; parents provide sheets and are sent home weekly for laundering or as needed. LPA observed each child to have their own sleeping mat/playpen. LPA observed backyard to be equipped with age-appropriate toys which include a slide play structure, ride-on toys, playhouses, and child size furniture all in good condition. There is a carport tent located in back left side of yard to provide shade to children in care. LPA did not observe any spas, pools, or other bodies of water.
Home is equipped with a working carbon monoxide detector, working smoke detector and a fully charged fire extinguisher located on kitchen counter. LPA reviewed first aid kit and kit is fully stocked. Licensee uses a cell phone on the premise. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. Licensee provides breakfast, lunch and two snacks to children in care. LPA reminded licensee any food brought from home must be labeled and stored properly.
