25 | On May 22nd, 2025, at approximately 1:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted a Case Management-Incident unannounced inspection. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection with Director, Micaela Alvarado. Present in the facility were Director with 12 staff supervising 29 infant children. During inspection, teacher to child ratio were met. All adults present during inspection have fingerprint clearance and are associated to the facility.
Department was notified of an Unusual Incident Report on May 9th, 2025. It was reported to the department that Redwood City Police Department came to the facility to interview Staff #1 (S1) on May 8th, 2025.
During today's inspection, LPA interviewed Director and S1 to obtain additional information. Based on the interviews conducted, the police interviewed S1 about a potential incident that occurred on May 6th, 2025.
Based on interviews conducted, the incident was regarding expectations on how staff should put children to sleep. Based on interviews with both Director and S1 the concerns have nothing to do with the immediate health and Safety of children in care and is more around the expectations of Staff. Therefore, there are no concerns to the department.
During todays inspection, LPA also conducted a health and safety inspection.
No Deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12, Chapt. 1.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Micaela Alvarado. A copy of this report was provided.
