Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Medlin conducted this case management visit due to a request to increase capacity in the infant program. Purpose of visit explained. Days and hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-PM.5:30PM. Facility is currently licensed to serve 18 children in the infant program and requested an increase to accommodate up to 21 children. South San Francisco Fire Department fire clearance was approved on 3/13/2023 for 21 children. Physical plant toured in the infant areas including the two classrooms and outdoor areas used. There are fully charged fire extinguishers that meet minimum requirements, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors throughout the facility. There are no space changes done in the infant areas but facility has adequate space/square footage to accommodate additional children. There are two classrooms for the infant program (Orbiter for infants birth to 12 month) and (Rover for infants 12 to 24 months). The increase in capacity would be in the Rover classroom increasing from current 9 infants/toddlers to 12 infants/toddlers. These classrooms measure 1043 square feet; the Rover classroom measures 600 square feet allowing for 17 children; Orbiter classroom measures 443 square feet allowing for 12 children. There is one child sink and two adult sinks in the Rover classroom and two sinks in the Orbiter classroom. There are changing tables within arms reach of a sink in each of the infant classrooms. Cots are used for napping in the Rover classroom and a separate napping area with cribs is in the Orbiter classroom.

This facility meets the licensing requirements to increase capacity to 21 children and re-licensure is recommended and approved as of today, 3/30/2023. New license shall be posted when received.

This report is reviewed with facility representative and a copy of this report must be made available for public review upon request. Notice of Site Visit posted and shall remain posted for 30 days.
