25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marie Rodriguez conducted a licensee initiated case management inspection in response to the addition of an infant center at this location which is resulting in a capacity decrease to the licensed preschool. LPA met with Applicant Natella Shtern. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards to ensure the facility was in compliance with Title 22 Regulations for Child Care Centers.
Applicant has converted classrooms 3 and 4 into the infant center. The total square footage of both classrooms is 424.81 sq ft as measured by LPA today. The deduction of this square footage results in a NEW total square footage for the preschool program of 1,517.99 divided by 35 sq ft per child equals 43 children. Applicant is requesting a decrease of capacity to 38 children (ages two years old to entry into first grade). Children in the infant center will not share a bathroom with preschool children. The preschool center will operate from Monday to Friday 7:30am to 6:00pm. There is an approved open space waiver for outdoor space and this will be updated to reflect the new capacity.
Fire clearance inspection was conducted and approved on April 25, 2022.
Based on the new square footage, the request to decrease the capacity to 38 children will be granted as of today, July 6, 2022.
