25 | On October 24th, 2022 at approximately at 1pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unnuanouced licensee initiated case management inspection in response to the addition of a Toddler Option to their existing Preschool license. Licensee is requesting to add 10 toddlers. LPA met with licensee, Natella Shtern and Director, June Keo. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards to ensure the facility was in compliance with Title 22 Regulations for Child Care Centers. LPA obtained an updated LIC 200A from licensee.
Facility is requesting that right side portion of the Main room will be designated for the Toddler Option. Toddler room measures for a total of 357.852 Sq.Ft. allowing for 10 toddlers. Fire Clearance was approved on August 24th, 2022. Per licensee, toddler option classrooms have their own designated bathrooms. Room was observed to be clean with age appropriate toys and equipment. There were several cubbies for children's belongings. All furnishing and equipment was safe and in good repair. Licensee had child size tables and chairs for snack and activities. All accessible garbage cans with tight fitting lids and outlets had been covered. All accessible sinks deliver only cold water. Diaper changing will be done inside the children's restroom. Classroom was equipped with a first aid kit. Facility is equipped with fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide (CO) detector. Outdoor play area measured during inspection. The total usable space is 2,200.16 Sq. Ft. allows for 28 preschool and toddler children. Outdoor rotational Waiver is in place.
LPA reminded licensee that the toddler's outdoor equipment must be age appropriate. The outdoor area surface is observed clean and in good condition. Per Director and licensee, outdoor area next to main room will be designated for toddler children and outdoor side yard will be designated to the preschool age children. Water services will be made accessible to day-care children with the use of pitchers of fresh water and refillable water bottles. Licensee and Director understands required age range for the toddler option, 18 to 36 months old, that toddlers and preschool age children need to be separate at all times, and that child's authorized representatives must provide written permission for participation in toddler option component.
No deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12, Chapt. 1.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed by licensee, Natella Shtern. |
