25 | On October 9th, 2024 at approximately 3:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janet Gil conducted an unannounced, annual inspection. LPA met with director, Lisa Aguirre, and explained the purpose of the inspection.
Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Present during inspection included 49 children (33 preschoolers and 16 infants) with 12 staff members (including director). 5 staff were part of the infant license. Facility is operating within capacity requirements and ratios at time of LPA's inspection. Facility operates two licenses, an infant license and a preschool license. Preschool Program operates from Moonlight, Starlight, and Sunshine Room and the infant program operates from Twilight Room only.
LPA and director inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, for health and safety hazards. Program operates out of 3 classrooms. LPA observed classrooms to be clean, equipped with age appropriate toys, materials, and furniture. LPA observed electrical outlets to be made inaccessible with outlet covers. LPA also observed covered trash cans in each classroom. Storage for children's belongings are located inside each classroom, labeled with each child's individual names. LPA observed classroom has enough cribs and sleeping mats available for all children in care. Per director, parents take home and wash sheets weekly.
LPA observed facility has an installation of a fire alarm system throughout the entire building. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are located in each classroom. Each classroom has a fully stocked and accessible first aid kit. Facility has multiple fire extinguishers throughout the facility. All poisons, cleaning solutions and hazardous materials are stored inaccessible to children on facility's high shelves.
LPA observed children's bathrooms to be clean and in proper working condition. Facility provides all food service. Facility provides AM snack, Lunch, and PM snack. Menus are posted for parents and authorized representatives to see. Water is available to children indoors and outdoors with children's water bottles and/or pitchers. Families and authorized representatives provide formula and bottles for infants in care. All bottles are properly in labeled/color coded containers and stored in refrigerator. Changing tables are within arm's reach of an adult sink. Infant classroom also has labeled diapers, wipes, as well as extra clothing for each infant.
