25 | On November 16th, 2022 at 2:10pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced required annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. LPAs met with licensee, Thricia Whitedl. Present in the facility is licensee and assistant caring for 5 children (2 infants and 3 preschool age). All adults living and working in the home have fingerprint clearance and associated to the facility.
Licensee owns home which is a three bedroom, 2 bathroom single story home. Licensee lives with two other adults and two minor children. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:30-5pm. Daycare areas: Converted garage (daycare area), bathroom #1 and front yard. Off Limit areas: Driveway, living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom #1, bedroom #2, bedroom #3 with bathroom #2, backyard, and side yard.
LPAs toured day care areas of home with Licensee to inspect for health and safety hazards. LPAs observed home to be clean and in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment in the home which were in good condition. Home does have a fireplace in an off limit area. Licensee has pet dogs with up to date documentation. There are no pools, and bodies of water in the premises. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children. Discipline Policy was discussed.
There was a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone on site. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are weapons or firearms in the home. LPAs observed that the weapons are kept in an off limit areas separate where children are supervised. LPAs reviewed 5 children's' record. LPAs also reviewed facility and personnel records. Licensees CPR & First Aid Certificate will expire 10/2024. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training expires 11/2022. Last Emergency drill was conducted 07/2022. Emergency drills must be conducted at least once every six months and should be properly logged.
