On August 24, 2021, at 1:00 pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Van conducted announced case management and met with Corporate Account Manager Jayme Sotto. The purpose of the inspection was explained and granted entry to the facility. The Director, Stephanie Lopez, arrived a moment later. The Department received an application from the Licensee requesting to increase capacity from 84 to 124 children and add more children to an existing toddler option component to the license. Due to the age range change on the license, a fire safety inspection is required, and LPAs had made a Fire clearance request from the SF Fire Department on 07/16/2021.

This is a combination center, and there is an infant program operates in the same location. The preschool and toddler programs currently use rooms #2, #4, #5, #7, #8, and #9. No changes were made to the previously licensed indoor or outdoor play spaces from the previous prelicensing inspection. The total useable indoor square footage for the preschool and toddler option is 4955 sq ft, allowing for 141 children. Room 2 is currently used for toddler component children, with a maximum of 18 toddlers in the room. To accommodate the additional 18 toddler component children in a newly requested capacity, the facility is converting the current activity room #4 as a toddler room. Room #4 (activity room) will be divided to allow two separate groups of toddler option children. Director acknowledged that preschool children and toddler option children could not commingle, and neither indoor nor outdoor, the group must be kept physically separate. Director also understood that the age range for the toddler option is 18 months to 36 months and that authorized representatives must obtain written permission from the child's authorized representative to place the child in the toddler program. LPA discussed with the Director the ratio and staffing for the toddler option.

During the inspection, room #4 was inspected. LPA observed that room #4 has yet to be set up as a classroom. The Director states that furnishing, toys, and learning equipment will be placed in the room in a couple of days, pictures of the room will be sent to LPA when everything is ready. The center has submitted an updated application (LIC 200A), and a Facility Sketch (LIC 999).

The boys' bathroom has two toilets, 4 urinals, and 3 sinks. The girls' bathroom has 4 toilets and 3 sinks. Furthermore, each classroom has its own sink. The total number of toilets and urinals is 10, allowing for 150 children. The total number of sinks is 13, allowing for 195 children. Children participating in the toddler option children would be sharing the with preschool children. Director was reminded that children participating in the toddler option program could not commingle with preschool children at any time.

The outdoor had a measurement of 3200 square feet from the previously measured outdoor, allowing for 42 children. The center currently has an outdoor waiver approved from the previous preLicensing inspection. However, due to the increase from 84 to 124, a new rotation scheduled must be submitted.

Prior to approving a capacity increase of 124 Preschool children,
· Fire clearance must be obtained.
· A new rotation scheduled is required, and an updated Personnel Report (LIC 500)
· Picture to be sent to LPA, once furnishing, toys, and learning materials are set up, · A final review is required from the Department before licensure.

The report was reviewed and signed by the Director, Stephanie Lopez. Today's report, 8/24/2021, and notice of site visit will be sent to the Director at STEPHANIEL@BUILDINGKIDZ.COM by the close of business on 8/24/21. Confirmation of receipt is required.
