Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Yee conducted a case management inspection today. Present at the facility are the licensee, Kasturi Basu, a helper, and two children. The purpose of the inspection was explained. The facility has requested an increase in capacity. The fire clearance for a large capacity has been approved by a fire Marshall on 7/28/2022 and the std850 approval letter from the fire Marshall is on file. LPA and the licensee inspected the daycare areas today. The facility personnel summary report was reviewed with the licensee and it's current. Licensee provides day care from Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Day Care Areas: main classroom, nap room/classroom, kitchen, dining room, bathroom located near the utility room and the deck areas. The remaining areas of the house are off-limits. Per licensee, there is no firearm or weapon in the house. Cleaning supplies, poisons, and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to the children. The house is in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation. There is a carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone available in the house. There is a variety of age-appropriate toys in the house. The licensee has a current CPR and 1st aid certificate on file.

LPA review AB 1207 with the Licensee. As of January 1, 2018 all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. The licensee and helper have current AB1207 on file.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed the licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Based on the inspection today, LPA will recommend a large license effective today, 09/06/2022.
