32 | Classroom P15 has one bathroom with two toilets (one child and one adult sized) and two sinks (one child and one adult sized). Cribs are assigned for each infant. Indoor space for infants are observed today to be clean and all furnishings, toys, and equipment observed to be safe, age appropriate, and in good condition. There is a storage space for infants' personal belongings. There is a designated space for a diaper changing station and will be cleaned after each use. A sink is located next to the diaper changing table.
Each classroom is equipped with a fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a separate kitchen area where food will be stored, garbage cans with tight-fitting lids, a first aid kit, and emergency supplies. All toxins and other hazardous items will be stored in a cabinet above the sink and will be inaccessible to children. Medications will be stored in a cabinet in a locked box in each classroom inaccessible to children. Isolation of ill children will be in the Director's office and staff bathroom will be used for an ill child.
Outdoor: Classroom P15 will utilize the front porch and back porch of classroom for infants. Total measurable outdoor area is 581.71 sq ft divided by 75 sq ft equals 7 children. Porches have age appropriate toys and equipment that are safe and in good condition. Back porch has an overhead awning built in for shade. Front porch has a portable shade structure. Main outdoor play area in front of classrooms P13 and P14 will be used for the toddler program and is also available for older infants. Main outdoor play area has 4170.99 sq ft. divided by 75 sq ft equals 55 children. Water will be available to children and provided by staff through a water dispenser and reusable cups.
LPA will approve increase of capacity to 30 children and addition of classroom P15 as of today, August 24, 2022. Fire clearance inspection was conducted and granted on August 23, 2022.
No deficiencies cited today under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
