Napping equipment was in good condition and properly stored. Regional Director reports parents/caregivers take nap sheets home every Friday to wash and return on Monday.
There is storage space for children's personal belongings in each classroom. Children will be signed in and out by authorized representatives using an electronic sign in/out program.
The center has adequate ventilation, comfortable temperature, and lighting. Center has a built-in smoke detector, and testable carbon monoxide detector in all rooms, fire extinguishers in all rooms (2A:10:BC), and telephone service. There are first aid kit in all classrooms, as well. LPA reviewed first aid kits during inspection.
The outdoor play area is fenced for supervision with age appropriate toys and equipment in good condition. The outdoor play area offers multiple areas for shaded rest. Climbing structures are observed to be properly anchored with absorbent material installed for added safety. LPA observed water services are provided for children both inside and outside, with staff utilizing a water filtration system.
LPA reviewed facility records including: 10 children’s files and 7 personnel files. Personnel and Children files were reviewed and contained all required forms. The center has a complete record of sign-in/out sheets by authorized pickup person located in each classroom.
Facility personnel had their updated CPR/ 1st aid certification on file. Center's emergency disaster drills are conducted every month in conjunction with Building Kidz Family of San Mateo's drill schedule and are properly logged. The last drill was completed on 2/15/2024 and the next drill scheduled for 3/15/2024.
Required postings are located outside of Director's office and includes the Facility License, Notification of Parent’s Rights (PUB394), Passenger Safety Law (PUB269), Updated Monthly Menu, and Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610).
Facility was informed that as of September 1, 2016, a person may not be employed or volunteer at a childcare facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption pursuant to Health and Safety code 1596.7995 and 1597.662.
