25 | On July 12th, 2024, at 8:55am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tapia-Mandujano conducted an unannounced Annual inspection and met with licensee, Zhifang "Catherine" Ma. Purpose of the inspection was explained to licensee. Present in the facility are licensee and her minor son. Per licensee, she has not had any children since relocating her license to this new address. As of this day, all adults living and/or working in the facility are fingerprint cleared and associated.
Licensee owns four bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, two story house. Licensee resides with two minor children. Per Licensee, facility operating hours are from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm. Day Care Areas Are: First Level: Living Room, Playroom, Kitchen, Dining Room, Bathroom #1, and backyard. Off Limit Areas Are: First level: Laundry room, Garage, Side Yards, Driveway, and Entire Second Level: Bedrooms #1-#4, Bathrooms #2 & #3. All the off limit areas and/or potential hazards are not properly barricaded. Per licensee, due to not having children enrolled, home is not "fully" set up. LPA toured the home and pointed out areas that needed to be done to ensure the health and safety of children in care.
LPA observed the Day-care is clean, orderly with a variety of age-appropriate toys for the children. All furniture inspected is in good repair. The applicant has a fully stocked First Aid kit and was reminded to be aware of the expiration on the First Aid Kit. The home has no pools or bodies of water in the home. The home has a fireplace that is covered. Per licensee there are no pets in the home. The home has age-appropriate equipment available for children in care. Licensee was reminded that baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers and any other similar items are not to be used for children in care.
There was a fully charged fire extinguisher, A dual smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm, and a working telephone. Phone number listed for Licensee is current. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home. During today's inspection, LPA did not review any children files. LPA reminded licensee about records to be maintained for children, staff, and facility.
