32 | Facility will provide lunch and morning and afternoon snacks through the school district. Medications will be stored in the nurse's office. Required postings were observed during today's inspection.
Outdoor: Outdoor play area will be shared with the kindergarten classrooms 1 and 2. This outdoor area measures 7,006.56 sq ft. divided by 75 sq ft allowing for a total of 93 children. Preschool classroom has a set schedule to use the outdoor area at specific times separate from the kindergarten classrooms. There will be no commingling of programs. The outdoor area is enclosed by a fence over four feet tall and observed to be clean, safe, and equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment for children. Resilient material is located on the ground of the play area. Teachers will bring out children's reusable cups filled with water while outside. Shade for children will be provided by the surrounding trees. Shared use of outdoor space waiver request will be submitted by Principal and a copy of outdoor play schedule will be provided.
LPA will approve licensure of facility for the capacity of 15 children. Fire clearance inspection was conducted on January 25, 2023.
Facility representative was reminded about Mandated Reporter training available on CCLD website. Training must be completed every 2 years by all staff hired. Training can be taken online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. If training is not available in native language, a statement can be written stating exemption until the translation is available.
Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed [applicant, licensee, or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. |
