During today's visit, facility had completed following:
-Completion of renovation, including painting and light fixture installations.
-Fire clearance obtained 08/25/2023.
-Inaccessibility of electrical outlets in classrooms.
-Garbage cans with tight fitting lids in classrooms and bathrooms.
-Finalization of the classroom set ups.
-Finalization of indoor classroom, bathroom and outdoor space usage.
-Installation of carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom.
LPM and LPA inspected facility, indoors and outdoors, and measured space to calculate capacity.
Indoors: There will be 3 spaces that will be utilized for the infant program: crawling space, eating area, and infant classroom. Total indoor square footage for indoor capacity equals 1,061.68 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 30 infants.
LPA observed classrooms to be fully equipped with toys, materials, and furniture that were age appropriate. Classrooms are equipped with working carbon monoxide detectors. Toys and furniture were observed to be new and in good working condition. Carpeting in infant classrooms were observed to be clean and in good condition.
Infant program will have access to 3 toilets and 2 working sinks. Sinks accessible to children did not provide water that was warmer than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Total allowable capacity for toilets is 45 children. Total allowable capacity for sinks is 30 children.
Outdoor: The outdoor area includes 2 areas that will be utilized for infant children. Area includes a turf section and a padded section. The outdoor area measures for 1,134.27 sq. ft. allowing for a capacity of 15 children. Applicant will submit an outdoor rotational schedule. Outdoor area was equipped with outdoor toys and materials that were in good working condition. Flooring in outdoor area for infants was observed to have turf. Applicant plans to include additional padding on the floor for infants.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
