25 | On May 20th, 2024 at approximately 8:30am, Licensing Program Analyst's (LPAs), Leslit Tapia-Mandujano and Diana Alvarado conducted a scheduled Pre-Licensing inspection this day and met with Applicant, Mei Yun "Meg" Ma. Applicant has applied for a Large Family Child Care License. Present in the home today was applicant and applicant's husband. Fire Clearance was received by Menlo Park Fire Department on March 11th, 2024. LPAs and applicant inspected entire home for Health and Safety Hazards.
Applicant owns a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, single story house. Applicant lives with husband. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. The ages that applicant plans to care for are ages 2-6 years old. Applicant acknowledges all adults living in the home must have fingerprint clearance.
Daycare areas are: Living Room (Play Room), Bedroom #1, bathroom #1, Kitchen, backyard, and side yard (right). OFF limit areas are: Bedroom #2, Bedroom #3 (Master Bedroom), Bedroom #4 (Office), Bathroom #2, Bathroom #3 (inside of Bedroom #3), Main Living Room, Garage, Front yard, and side yard (left). All off limit areas will be properly barricaded, including all closets.
LPAs observed the following: Daycare Area is clean with sufficient light and ventilation. All furniture inspected is in good repair. The applicant has a fully stocked First Aid kit and thermometer. The home has no pools or bodies of water. Per applicant, there is a pet in the home. Home does not have any fireplaces or open face heaters. Per applicant, there are no guns or weapons in the home. The home has age appropriate equipment available for children in care. Applicant was reminded baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers and any other similar items are to not be used for children in care. Discipline policy was discussed. Isolation area for sick child will be in the kitchen. Fire Alarm has been installed in the living room (play room) wall.
Applicants acknowledges they will conduct an emergency drill at least once every six months and log drills. Applicant's CPR & First Aid will expire on 04/2025 and for Mandated Reporter Training Certificate will expire on 03/2026.
