25 | On March 21, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maria Olguin-Leon and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Marie Rodriguez, conducted an informal office meeting and met with applicant, Linh Tran.
On February 27, 2025, applicant submitted an application for a large family childcare. Application was for an ADU, which was previously a detached recreation room for address 467 Oak Ridge Dr., Redwood City, CA 94062. Detached recreation room was converted into an ADU with a separate new address. 469 Oak Ridge Dr. Redwood City, CA 94062.
The purpose of the informal office meeting was to discuss regulations and compliance issues, due to main home on same property being licensed to another licensee.
During meeting, Applicant was reminded:
· Applicant is the main provider for the licensed ADU.
· Applicant’s substitute cannot be another licensed provider.
· If applicant (or substitute) is working alone in ADU, applicant (or substitute) must operate within capacity limits of a small, licensed family childcare home.
· Applicant can not be in main home and Licensee of main home cannot be in ADU during daycare operating hours and need to be in their own respective homes.
· Applicant understands meals/food will be available in ADU and applicant will not go to main home to retrieve meals/food.
· Applicant will have their own designated staff; no sharing of staff will be allowed with staff working in main home daycare. Except in an emergency.
