25 | On April 18th, 2023, at 1:37PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rosie Breault conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with facility director Maggie Flores and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. The facility operates from 8:00AM-11:00AM for morning session and 12:00PM – 3:00PM for afternoon session Monday through Friday. At the time of the inspection there were thirty-seven (37) children and eleven (11) staff present.
The facility currently uses four (4) classrooms for care and supervision. LPA observed required licensing documents mounted on the wall at the entrance of the facility and the menu for the month of April. Facility uses written logs for the purposes of signing children in and out. All classrooms have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care and offer ample ventilation. LPA observed first aid kits available for use in classrooms, and cleaning compounds, disinfectants, sharps, poisons, toxins, and tools to be inaccessible to children and / or locked in a cabinet. Children have access to hand washing sinks, water filtration and bring their personal water bottles from home. LPA observed restrooms to be clean and functioning at the time of the inspection. Each classroom maintains regulation fire extinguisher with service date of 8/2/2022. The last emergency drill was conducted on 10/20/2022. LPA reminded director emergency drill is about to expire. Director states no firearms or ammunition are present on the property. Incidental medical services are currently being provided. LPA observed one locked medical box inaccessible to children. Inside LPA observed unexpired medication with an unaltered label and required documentation.
Facility provides breakfast to morning session children and lunch to afternoon session. LPA toured the kitchen and found it to be clean, functioning, and free of rodents.
The outdoor area has ample amount of space for children to play and enclosed by perimeter gated fencing. LPA observed age-appropriate play equipment, soft cushioning, and shaded areas. There are no bodies of water present.
