25 | On March 6, 2024, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Francisca Velazquez and Joaquin Mendez conducted an unannounced Case Management- Incident inspection. LPAs met with facility representative, Berta Zendejas Degodoy, Site Supervisor (S1) and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Facility representative and LPAs toured the facility inside and out. There were 16 children in care at the time of the inspection with three (3) teaching staff.
On February 2, 2024, Facility Representative contacted Community Care Licensing (CCL) to report an incident that occurred on January 17, 2024, in which P1 reported that she was told that her child, C1 was grabbed inappropriately by S2. Per P1, this incident occurred on the bus. P1 reported that this information was given to P1’s sister and then P1’s sister told P1.
S1 communicated with S3 and S2 regarding this incident. Neither S2 or S3 remembers this incident or C1 crying in the bus. S1 also communicated this information to S4 who advised S1 to make a report with CCL.
LPAs interviewed S4, who reported having knowledge of this information. S4 reported that S2 works well with children and appears to be gentle and mellow with the children. LPAs also interviewed S3, who reported not having any memory of C1 crying during the bus ride. S3 reported that if C1 had cried or if there was any incident, S3 would have been able to hear. S1, S3 and S4 reported they have not had any concerns in with the care and supervision that S2 provides to the children in care.
LPAs interviewed parent/guardian of C1, who reported that they know S2 and they do not believe that this incident occurred and believe this is gossip from the reporting party. Parent/guardian expressed they do not have any concerns and are happy and satisfied with the services received at the CCC.
