For child care center licenses issued after 7/1/22, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPAs verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
The restrooms of the CCC are on the elementary school grounds. Children in care are escorted to the restrooms and staff members stay in proximity of the restrooms when in use. LPAs observed the restrooms to be in sanitary operating condition. LPAs also observed waste receptacle with tight fitting lids throughout the CCC.
The outdoor play area is just outside of the CCC's classroom. LPAs observed the play area to be enclosed by chain link fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secured. Toys, play equipment and furnishings in the outdoor area is age appropriate. The toys, play equipment and furnishings are in suitable condition and free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. Site Supervisor is informed to replace toys, play equipment and furnishings when such items begin to degrade and are not in good repair. The play structures in the outdoor area have adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls. Shade in the outdoor area is provided by trees in the area as well as building overhangs. No bodies of water are observed on site.
LPAs reviewed staff and children records. The children’s records are complete and found to contain emergency contact information, immunization records and parents rights, amongst other required licensing documents. Staff records are reviewed and contained current Pediatric CPR/First Aid, immunization records and educational experience, amongst other required licensing documents. The fire drill records for the CCC are reviewed. LPAs note the last fire drill on site occurred on 5/14/24. Site Supervisor informed LPAs no firearm or ammunition is stored on site.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPAs reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
