25 | On 9/3/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martina Jimenez and Shane Loftus, conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection of Adam Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Gina Martinez, Site Supervisor of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPAs, along with the Site Supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday. LPA observed 7 children napping, along with 3 staff members (cleared and associated) providing care and supervision. The CCC operates out of one classroom. LPAs notes the CCC is a preschool program.
LPAs observed age appropriate toys and furnishings throughout the CCC. Toys include auditory, visual and tactile stimulation items as well as items to enhance and manipulative skills. LPAs observed the CCC to have napping cots for children. LPAs observed the sign-in sign-out sheet to be completed. LPAs observed a carbon monoxide detector in the CCC. Per the center's log the carbon monoxide detector was tested on 10/31/2022, and found to be operable.
The CCC has an operable refrigerators in the kitchen. The refrigerator contains food items and beverages for the children's consumption. The refrigerator has excess food items provided to children. There is available drinking water both inside the classroom and outside in the play area. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child-Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the Licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
